Delicious Ricotta Toast for Entertaining or Anytime

ricotta toast

Yes, toast is still happening. Or, if we want to be French about it, tartines are all the rage. There is something undeniably chic about crusty bread and pretty toppings, yet it couldn’t be an easier thing to assemble. With a little ingenuity and a sense of adventure, these go from prep to table in under 20 minutes. So why not try these gorgeous ricotta toasts for your next at-home soirée (or these make for a super fun brunch, too).

I’ve assembled six of my favorite flavor combos for your ricotta toast inspiration, but branch out and try any toppings you love. There’s no right or wrong — sweet or savory — ricotta toasts are delicious and versatile for just about any mouthwatering medley.

ricotta toast

Start out with a thick, rustic bread or baguette. Slice into thick slices and toast ’em up — you can do this by either brushing a bit of olive oil on both sides of the bread and grilling on a grill pan, or baked in a single layer on a baking sheet at 400° for 10-12 minutes.

Let cool and then get to topping.

Ricotta Toast with Campari Tomato, Fresh Basil, Cracked Pepper, Kosher Salt and Olive Oil

A classic caprese meets toast. Colorful, flavorful and bright, this is an easy winner for parties and presents really beautifully on a large platter.

Ricotta Toast with Sliced Strawberry, Pistachio and Honey

Ricotta pairs so well with anything sweet. I love the combo of the fresh strawberry with a little honey and crunchy pistachio. This would make a great brunch item or fun dessert.

Ricotta Toast with Radish, Microgreens, Kosher Salt and Cracked Pepper

A true French twist on toast, er, tartine. I love the presentation for a cocktail party as it just looks so elegant. The radish and bread are a natural alliance — don’t miss the kosher salt, it makes this one.

Ricotta Toast with Smoked Salmon, Fresh Dill and Cracked Pepper

Morning, afternoon or evening, this toast is a tasty winner. I’d normally pair smoked salmon with cream cheese, however, the smooth, mildness of the ricotta is a winner here.

Ricotta Toast with Zucchini, Shaved Parmesan, Lemon and Pepitas

I just adore thinly sliced zucchini and parmesan — it’s one of my favorite combinations and it really comes to life on the ricotta toast. Don’t forget the spritz of lemon juice, it really makes the zucchini sing.

Ricotta Toast with Agave-Marinated Blueberries, Orange and Mint

For your sweet tooth. Marinate blueberries in agave syrup with a little orange juice for about an hour. Top on the ricotta and add a little fresh mint. One of the best dessert toasts I’ve ever made!

Um wait what? I want ONE OF EACH! These all sound utterly fantastic Brett — especially that radish topped one! Maybe it’s just because microgreens makes it sound so fancy?

Bookmarking and saving for my next party — these nibbles would be so perfect to serve all at once on a large tray!
