Believe in your Gut | Mom-to-Be Mornings with Tropicana® Probiotics

Now that I’m a mom-to-be, my health and wellness priorities have, well, shifted a bit, to say the least. I’ve always been a bit of a gluttonous girl – I’m looking at you pizza + donuts – however, when you’ve got a little one growing away inside of you, all of a sudden you’re thinking, “I probably shouldn’t be eating this” about so many of the things you would typically toss mindlessly into your mouth. That’s why I was pretty pumped to partner with Tropicana on their #BelieveInYourGut campaign and their initiative to introduce healthy probiotics into your daily routine.

I have to be honest, I typically don’t think about probiotics or how many I’m ingesting in a day, but because I actively try to eliminate as much dairy as possible from my diet, I know I’m missing out on a lot of the natural probiotics and good-for-your gut bacteria in foods like yogurt and milk products.

Luckily, probiotics are in a bunch of other yummy things like kombucha, kefir, pickles (what could be more glorious to a preggo chick?), kimchi and the new Tropicana Probiotics juices, which come in three awesome flavors: Strawberry Banana, Pineapple Mango, and Peach Passion Fruit. I have to admit, the Strawberry Banana flavor has become my go-to post-workout refreshment. I’m a sucker for anything strawberry banana and the juice is creamy, tasty goodness, especially in a fresh fruit shake or with a little bowl of berries and granola.

Having Tropicana Probiotics in the fridge to grab and go helps making healthy decisions easier. As if things aren’t crazy enough right now preparing for the arrival of our little guy, right? Taking the time to eat right, exercise and stay active HAVE to be at the top of my list.

I’ve tried really upping my game in the overall health and wellness department lately…

I’m working out with a personal trainer (more to come on that soon), and have eliminated processed sugar and carbs out of my diet. Its been a challenge, but rewarding to say the least. I’m feeling way more energetic – I was a total sleep machine through my first and second trimesters – and my awful pregnancy heartburn and acid reflux have totally disappeared. Amen to that.

Because Tropicana Probiotics doesn’t have any added sugar or artificial flavors, I’m able to keep it in rotation, guilt free. The juice also delivers over one billion live and active cultures to my gut while also smashing my whole day’s vitamin C intake. BOOM!

The Pineapple Mango and Peach Passion Fruit juices are eagerly waiting to be thrown into a summer-inspired, tropical breakfast. Something like coconut protein pancakes or maybe even my brûléed grapefruit recipe? I’m a big believer in keeping good food on hand, so that your brain naturally gravitates toward making good-for-you choices.

Believing in my gut and doing a little – or a lot – of something everyday to stay on track means a lot to me. A healthy me means a healthy baby and that’s worth everything!

I partnered with my friends at Megan Media and Tropicana for this post. The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own.
