With a toddler and a newborn, date nights have been few and far between, and those evenings where we used to get dressed up and go hit up a sexy cocktail bar are practically extinct. Now don’t go feeling bad for this mom and dad just yet. We still do our best to make the most of our newfound extra time at home and always carve out time in our evenings for a little parental wind down time. As most of you know, when I first met Eric, he was working as a mixologist and has always had the most amazing knack for crafting delicious at-home cocktails. He’s actually quite famous for them in our fam! That’s why when Drinkworks® Home Bar by Keurig® asked me to check out their new Home Bar system, I was pumped to give it a whirl and bring back some of the ‘fancy’ to our mini date nights at home.
Staying in doesn’t have to be a bore! Break out the rocks glasses, some premium ingredients, and a little garnish action, and you’ve transported a night of couch and Netflix to sippin’ at a speakeasy. Granted, while we always try to keep things fun with our couple time, shopping for and keeping all of the cocktail-making essentials on hand isn’t always easy. This ‘lil mama is usually shopping for kids’ snacks and milk, not bourbon and Sangria… and that’s what I love about the Drinkworks Home Bar. You can have whatever you want, at the push of a button, and all of the ingredients are perfectly portioned for the ultimate craft cocktail, including the alcohol. Just add the garnish (or skip it, YOLO).
Set up of the Drinkmaker could not have been easier. It only took a few minutes and we were on our way to bar-quality drinks in a snap. After selecting our pods, and just pushing a button, the drinks come out ice cold and ready to be savored on the spot. Big excitement for that because melted ice in your drink is no bueno, right? Keurig has really thought of it all.
Eric and I are both Old Fashioned fans (it was the first drink we ever had together) and we couldn’t wait to break out this fan favorite first! It was sooo delicious and hit the spot… warm and slightly spiced, it was strong and the perfect sipping cocktail for our date night in. We poured it over a large singular ice cube (we make these ourselves at home, it’s so easy with a jumbo ice cube tray), garnished with an orange peel, and enjoyed. Yum! But if a stronger drink isn’t your thing, Drinkworks Home Bar has a massive array of options (over two dozen drinks) in their online shop. From mojitos to margaritas, all of the greatest hits are there. Imagine how perfect this would be for a dinner party with friends… everyone can pick their ideal bevvie.

What a unique idea. I am surprised no one has thought of it sooner.
