A couple of weeks ago, I put up this post on my favorite new flavors of noosa® yoghurt and the fun ways to pair them with yummy snacks and treats. Funny enough, the standout of that post wasn’t a dish at all… it was a seasoning!
I heard from many of you, all inquiring how I make my everything bagel seasoning that was featured on the avocado + cream cheese toast.
If you forgot, or didn’t see it…here, have a look:
Looks yummy, right? That’s because my love of everything bagels always has me dreaming of what else the tasty topping can go on! Everything bagels are just so damn good. They’re the most beloved bagel of all bagels. That mixture of garlicky, salty and nutty flavors is just sensory perfection. Save for the poppy seeds that inevitably end up in your teeth, it’s really a flawless trip to Flavortown.
I used to imagine the possibilities of things the seasoning would taste good on: pastas, potatoes, eggs… the options are pretty much limitless. Why has the delicious everything bagel seasoning just been relegated to bagels for so long?
The madness stops now.
Assembling your own everything bagel seasoning couldn’t be easier. With a handful of ingredients and a measuring spoon, you’ll be sprinkling delight on everything in no time.
First, grab dried minced garlic, dried minced onion, poppy seeds, sesame seeds and coarse kosher salt.
Then, measure out 1 tablespoon of each.
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl (or, as I like to do, dump ’em and shake ’em all up in a ziploc bag).
Sprinkle on WHATEVER and store the rest in an airtight container.
