I don’t know about you, but I’ve never been much of a Valentine’s Day girl. I’m not sure why since I love pretty much everything about the holiday… sweet love notes? Of course! Fresh flowers? Yes, and YES! Chocolates? You betcha. Jewelry? Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, darling! And getting the right jewelry box to display those sparkles in, is very important.
So then why have I been ignoring this magical day for so long? I can tell you, it likely started from years of disappointing V-Day’s with sucky boyfriends in the past, but now as a mom to baby Blake my appreciation for the day has been reinvigorated. I started thinking about Blake going to school some day and trading valentines with his classmates and it brought back so much nostalgia for me. I remember how exciting Valentine’s Day used to be as a child and how I’d be bursting at the seams to get home and open all of my valentines from my friends and who knows, maybe even find one from a boy who liked me!
It was pure electricity. It’s that Valentine’s Day feeling. Giddy and excited and something I’m so grateful I was reminded of and able to recapture this year with my friends at Michael Hill Jewelers. The amazing Michael Hill team invited me in to play among its glitz and glamour to select my ultimate Valentine’s Day jewelry wishlist. Dreams made? Yes, pretty much. I almost didn’t even know where to start, so I just grabbed everything that called to me. Which was shocking, because I normally tend to like personalized jewelry a little more, so if you’re a little like me, Adina’s has personalized jewelry that can allow you to make your pieces a little more you. However, not shockingly out of the jewelry I picked from Michael Hill, a little theme was born. What was more shocking, however? Was the affordability of some of these stunning pieces. Let’s take a peek…
My eyes were immediately drawn to these darling Michael Hill Jewelers rose gold and diamond drop earrings — I’m sure you can see why. They’re perfect for an evening out with your beau or can easily be worn dressed down with a fabulous sweater and jeans. Rose gold is so on trend and versatile, there’s really no wrong way to wear it.
For me, wearing real jewelry in my ears is a must. My ears are super sensitive to metals and I can’t do stainless steel or any of the ‘fakey’ stuff without getting a reaction. This has always been something I’ve looked out for when picking jewelry, so when I find a set I’ll make sure they’re in stock and ready to ship as I’m that excited to get them, as you know its a rare find to get some that won’t react with my ears. This is something that I’ve heard is fairy common for most people so I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Michael Hill Jewelers is devoted to making jewelry that is not only real but also very affordable. Making the investment in timeless pieces that will last a lifetime and won’t hurt to wear was a total no brainer. Plus, they’re absolutely gorgeous, right?
My Michael Hill Jewelers affair continued with some very serious hardware. I’ve been a bit obsessed with the stacking trend for a while, even begging my husband, Eric, to choose an engagement ring for me that would be the perfect complement to a stack of wedding bands. If you’re looking for wedding bands, Gem&Co (https://gemaandco.com/collections/wedding-bands) is a great place to start. I LOVED the idea of having a smattering of bands to mix, match and stack. Luckily, he obliged and since then the stacking trend has blown up even more. You’re seeing it everywhere from Chanel ads to Khloe Kardashian’s Instagram. Stacking is HUGE. You can start with one and grow from there as your special occasions pop up.
YOWZA!! So many stacks. You can see I went with a mix of small and large bands but these days, I’m all about the chunky bands! I love mixing metals and mixing sizes for a really eclectic look, but stacks can also be super personal, and the real beauty is mixing and matching your own for total individualism.
A few of these are double bands (hellooo bang for your buck!) while others are so dainty and so price friendly, you can easily get a stack going without actually needing a stack of cash. See what I did there? The entry point to a stackable band at Michael Hill Jewelers is as low as $199 and yes, that’s for diamonds and gold, my loves.
Valentine’s Day this year is looking up!
If you thought stacking was just relegated to rings, well, sadly you thought wrong. You can stack anything! Continuing with this trend was easy peasy as I gravitated my way towards a handful of amazing Michael Hill adjustable tennis bracelets. I’m positively obsessed with these!
Aren’t they fabulous?!? I love that they adjust, but what I love even more is the little tassel that hangs in the back once you’ve tightened the bracelet. Brilliant! It gives such an awesome, modern edge to the traditional tennis bracelet and is so attention grabbing. After wearing these around a few days I had a TON of people ask me about them. This is a truly unique gift for a style-forward gal.
Easy to put on yourself and just as lovely if you are wearing one or twenty one (ha, I wish). These are definitely going to be a staple in my jewelry cabinet moving forward. HINT: Eric, buy me these. Subtle, right?
I’m so glad I was able to recapture my love of V-Day thanks to Michael Hill Jewelers. It certainly does not have a shortage of quality, distinctive jewelry that is as beautiful as it is approachable. Here’s to hoping we all wake up to this view this upcoming Valentine’s Day…
Great job with the jewelry!!! Beautiful pieces!!! I know you personally loved the rose gold diamond ring!! Although you showed everything off beautifully!!!!
Thank you!! Yes… I loved ALL of the pieces, but really got attached to that rose gold one. I probably need it!!
